Peter Boardman, Co. Director & Face to Face Adviser

Peter Boardman established Boardman Wealth Management Ltd in 1999 initially under the trading name, Somersall Independent Financial Advisers Ltd which later became Somersall Financial Management Ltd. Peter’s experience in Financial Services started in 1991 with Royal Life. In 2004 Peter was invited to join the prestigious St. James's Place Wealth Management Group which he accepted and Boardman Wealth Management Ltd has been a continuously successful Practice ever since.

As a Director of Boardman Wealth Management Ltd, Peter has a wide range of expertise, knowledge and experience. He is proud to be able to offer his clients professional advice on investment planning, financial planning, retirement strategies and Inheritance Tax Planning.

Over the years Peter has developed his Practice by building long-term relationships with clients. This has resulted in the vast majority of new business coming from satisfied clients, who have been happy to recommend Peter's Practice and St. James's Place Wealth Management Group.

Peter is focused on spreading his advice amongst the Family of his clients and regularly uses the range of Intergenerational Wealth Products available through St. James’s Place Wealth Management Group.

Peter is married to Carmen and has three children. In his spare time he enjoys holidays with his family, supporting local Football and Rugby clubs but his passion has always been Cricket and most recently has agreed, through Boardman Wealth Management Ltd, to sponsor Hallam Cricket Club, one of the largest family clubs in South Yorkshire and North East Derbyshire Area where he is heavily involved with coordinating junior coaching and junior matches. Peter also enjoys playing golf and is a member at Chesterfield Golf Club where he has been supporting Ashgate Hospice Golf Day for over 10 years.

Carmen Boardman, Company Secretary

Carmen is married to Peter and is responsible for the financial management of the business, relationships with the company accountants, HMRC, Companies House, Information Commissioners Office, Financial Conduct Authority, Internal Compliance, Contracts of Employment and Company Insurances.



Michaela Umney, PA

Michaela has worked for Boardman Wealth Management Ltd for over 10 years and is Peter’s PA, having previously worked for HSBC in their Wills & Probate department. She is responsible for Peter’s day to day diary, email communications, Peter’s Continuous Professional Development (CPD) along with ongoing enquiries from existing clients. Away from the office Michaela, is married with two adult children and extended family all living locally, she is the heartbeat of the Umney family and spends most of her spare time organising family holidays and all the administration that goes with family life.



Tracey Bruell, Practice Administrator

Tracey has worked for Boardman Wealth Management Ltd for over 10 years, having previously worked outside of Financial Services and is responsible for all new business transactions and related compliance documentation ensuring that Financial Conduct Authority and internal compliance guidelines are adhered to. Away from the office Tracey is married with adult children and one devoted grandchild. She enjoys holidays and spending time with family & friends. Through her local, Chesterfield, contacts Tracey is usually working on the next charitable fund raising project.



Jack Gavan, Client Relationship Manager

Jack has just completed a three-year apprenticeship programme and has now been appointed to a permanent position within the Practice. He has ambitions to become a client facing adviser and will commence training towards this from September 2018. Jack is responsible for communications with existing clients, arranging regular reviews, our E-Briefings service, client events and distribution of Annual Budget Reports, Tax Focus Cards and the Quarterly Investor Magazine. Jack is also responsible for the Reception duties at Sunnybank and will welcome all visitors with a smile and fresh cup of tea or coffee on arrival.
